Founded in 1992, Niche Technology Inc. is a private Canadian corporation based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Wholly owned by its senior management team, Niche Technology has satellite offices in Canada and the US, and in the UK operates through its subsidiary Niche Technology UK Ltd.

Niche’s focus is entirely on law enforcement software – we have made a significant research and development investment in creating a system architecture to support the specific requirements of policing, especially the needs of large police agencies.

Our Records Management System is used by more than 75,000 sworn officers in over 90 agencies, including seven of the 25 largest police agencies in the English-speaking world. Current implementation projects will see the number of officers using Niche RMS rise to nearly 100,000.

Niche RMS is continuously evolving to meet the needs of our customers. We work with new and existing customers to seek out and respond to new police information management requirements and are constantly adding new functionality. We also have a vigorous evergreening program that ensures our customers can rely on us to keep our technology up-to-date. Both of these streams of system development are provided to customers via regularly scheduled version releases.
